Recently, while planning a special dinner with my mother in the Yeouido area, I was searching for a quiet, memorable spot and decided to book WOOHANA Yeouido. I'd had a wonderful experience at another WOOHANA location before, so I was curious about this newly opened Yeouido branch. The fact that every seat is in a private room immediately caught my attention. The verdict? Both the food and atmosphere exceeded expectations, and the private dining room allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation in complete comfort.

When searching for Korean beef omakase in Yeouido, plenty of options come up, but I prefer courses that balance premium Hanwoo with seafood rather than just meat-focused menus. WOOHANA centers around Korean beef while incorporating seafood dishes like tuna, abalone, and tilefish, creating a diverse and engaging dining experience. As a private room Korean restaurant in Yeouido, every table is separated into an independent space, making it ideal for family gatherings, engagement dinners, or business meetings.

WOOHANA Yeouido is located on the first floor of 27-8 Gukjegeumyung-ro 8-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's about an 8-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 5. The restaurant is tucked inside a side street rather than on a main road, so first-time visitors should use a map app. The entrance features a distinctive cave-like design that creates a unique first impression, while inside, the atmosphere remains sophisticated and refined.

The entire interior is divided into private rooms, with various sizes accommodating from 2-4 people to larger group rooms. I used a 2-person room, and the spacious table layout combined with a closable door created a completely independent space where we could focus on conversation without any outside noise. The subtle lighting set a calm mood perfect for an intimate meal.

WOOHANA Yeouido's dinner courses are divided into three tiers: A, B, and C. All courses include 90g of Hanwoo, with the number of dishes and price varying by tier.

I selected Course B for the grilled tilefish. Before the course began, they presented all the ingredients to be used that evening. Being able to see the fresh ingredients firsthand built trust and heightened anticipation.

The first dish was chestnut sweet potato porridge. Served warm with a hint of truffle oil, it was topped with crispy chestnut chips that added textural contrast. The creamy, sweet flavor gently prepared the palate for the courses ahead.

Next came four signature bite-sized dishes named after WOOHANA itself. The sea bream tart combined a jelly-like sauce with crispy tart shell, while the lobster seaweed tart cleverly used seaweed as the tart base. The beef tartare brioche featured tender raw beef that melted on soft bread, and the Hanwoo croquette came with mustard sauce that enhanced its savory richness.

The tuna uni dish paired tuna belly with pickled baby cabbage and sea urchin. The tuna was silky, and the refreshing pickled cabbage balanced the rich umami of the uni beautifully. The abalone course featured braised radish and zucchini wrapped together with a nutty sauce that complemented the firm, chewy texture of the abalone.

The grilled tilefish was my main reason for choosing Course B. Cooked almost to a crisp, it arrived with an exceptionally crunchy skin and thick, moist flesh underneath. This was the textbook definition of crispy-outside-tender-inside, and personally, it was the most memorable dish of the entire course.

The Hanwoo sukiyaki included Hanwoo rolls and fried tofu with sauce. Caviar crowned the beef rolls for a striking presentation, while the fried tofu had a soft, chewy texture that became incredibly flavorful when dipped generously in the sauce. The beef noodles came chilled with a thin layer of ice, featuring thin capellini-style noodles that were springy yet slipped down easily, cleansing the palate.

The main event was the individual charcoal grill with ribeye cap as the standard cut, with upgrades available for an additional fee. Each diner received their own grill, allowing us to cook at our own pace and enjoy warm meat throughout the course. The beef arrived lightly seared with juices intact, perfectly thick, and delicious with just a touch of salt. Pairing it with a dab of wasabi offered a refreshing variation.

The seaweed soup meal came with three banchan: fresh kimchi, fernbrake namul, and salted seafood. The seaweed soup tasted slow-cooked and hearty, enriched with Hanwoo for deep savory flavor. Eating it with rice and beef felt satisfying and complete.

Dessert concluded with cream cheese ice cream and lime basil sorbet. Pistachio chips topped the cream cheese ice cream for added texture, while the lime basil sorbet provided a refreshing finish that cleansed the palate beautifully.

If you request an anniversary event, they provide either grape juice or two glasses of champagne, Polaroid photo service, and dessert with lettering and candles. I received this service, and my mother was delighted—it made for memorable keepsake photos. Request this when booking if you're visiting for a special occasion.

Dinner reservations start from 5:15 PM, and weekends book up quickly, so reserve at least one week in advance. Two hours of free parking is provided, and there's no corkage fee, so feel free to bring your own wine.

WOOHANA Yeouido delivers on all fronts as a premium Hanwoo restaurant—food quality, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. The fact that every seat is a private room meant we could dine comfortably without worrying about being watched, and the balanced mix of Korean beef and seafood kept the course engaging throughout. The value for money is solid, the staff were gracious, and overall satisfaction was high. My mother said she'd love to come back again, and I agree—this is a place I'd return to for special occasions.

Making a Reservation: Book at least one week ahead, especially for weekends. You can call ahead or use Korean restaurant reservation platforms. Mention if you're celebrating a special occasion to receive complimentary anniversary service.

How to Get There: Take Seoul Metro Line 5 or 9 to Yeouido Station and exit through Exit 5.
