Choosing the right venue for important occasions is always a challenge. When I needed a quiet spot for a friend's birthday dinner, I discovered WOOHANA Yeouido—a private room Korean restaurant Yeouido that's earned Blue Ribbon recognition for its Hanwoo omakase. The fact that every seat is in a private dining room sealed the deal. Here's my honest review of this exceptional restaurant near IFC Mall.

When searching for KBBQ Seoul options, countless restaurants appear, but I wanted more than just great food—I needed impeccable atmosphere and service too. Most importantly, I needed a space where our group could converse freely without worrying about nearby diners. WOOHANA operates 21 private rooms accommodating up to 20 guests, making it ideal for everything from intimate dinners to family gatherings and company celebrations.

Reviews consistently praised the restaurant's robust seafood selection alongside its Korean beef courses, which raised my expectations. The complimentary corkage policy was another major draw. It's rare to find a fine dining establishment of this caliber that welcomes outside wine—the bottle I brought added a personal touch to the evening without any additional cost.

WOOHANA Yeouido is located at 27-8 Gukjegeumyung-ro 8-gil, 1st Floor, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's within comfortable walking distance from Yeouido Station or Saetgang Station, and its proximity to The Hyundai Seoul and IFC Mall makes it easy to locate using major landmarks.

The parking entrance is immediately to the left of the restaurant entrance—don't miss it. On my first visit, I mistakenly parked in the adjacent building's lot and wasted time searching. Knowing this beforehand will save you hassle.

The building entrance made an immediate impression. The lobby features modern Korean aesthetics—a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional hanok design—and every surface from the corridors to the reception counter was impeccably maintained. The spotless, well-organized space established trust from the first moment.

Our assigned private room exceeded expectations. The table setting was pristine, and the lighting struck the perfect balance—soft enough for ambiance yet bright enough to appreciate the food's presentation. Once the door closed, we had complete privacy with zero noise from other diners. This private room atmosphere makes WOOHANA Yeouido equally suitable for engagement dinners, business meetings, romantic date nights, or anniversary celebrations.

We selected the Dinner B course at 129,000 won per person. Before the course began, the chef presented the evening's ingredients on a beautiful display plate—a theatrical touch that immediately heightened anticipation.

The meal opened with chestnut sweet potato porridge, its silky texture and subtle sweetness perfectly designed to awaken the palate. Even though I wasn't particularly hungry, that first spoonful ignited my appetite.

The four bite-sized appetizers that followed were visually stunning: beef tartare brioche, lobster, sea bream, and Hanwoo beef tempura, each meticulously plated. The tartare was rich and exceptionally fresh, the lobster delivered satisfying chew with delicate sweetness, and the beef tempura combined crispy exterior with tender interior, bursting with juices in a single bite.

Tuna with uni surprised me with its brightness. The uni's characteristic creaminess married beautifully with silky tuna, yet the clean finish left me eager for the next course.

The abalone dish arrived with braised radish and zucchini, showcasing impeccable texture. Each bite revealed abalone that was simultaneously tender and pleasantly chewy, complemented by the radish's sweet-savory glaze. The seafood execution was so masterful it could pass for a dedicated seafood omakase rather than a Korean beef-focused restaurant.

Grilled tilefish was a work of art. The skin crisped to perfection while the flesh remained moist and flaky. One bite released waves of savory oils and the fish's inherent clean flavor. I could have easily eaten another serving.

Hanwoo sukiyaki arrived as individual portions rather than a communal pot—an elegant presentation. The beef was incredibly tender with balanced seasoning that avoided any heaviness. The accompanying vegetables created harmonious contrast.

Chilled beef noodle soup tasted like the perfect summer refreshment. The cool, clean broth contained beef that made the dish satisfying without being heavy. Served mid-course, it functioned brilliantly as both palate cleanser and substantial dish.

The main event, personal brazier grilling, featured Hanwoo sirloin with assorted vegetables (mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini, asparagus, potato, sweet potato). We were informed that tenderloin or shrimp substitutions were available. Each diner controlled their own brazier, grilling to preference and seasoning with salt or wasabi. Despite being summer, the compact brazier maintained comfortable dining temperatures.

The accompanying Hanwoo seaweed soup and three side dishes showed thoughtful care. The seaweed soup composition also makes this menu particularly meaningful for birthday celebrations.

Dessert concluded with cream cheese ice cream and lime basil sorbet. For special occasions, the restaurant offers complimentary dessert plate lettering, Polaroid photos, and a glass of champagne per person—worth requesting in advance if you're celebrating.

Throughout the course progression, staff delivered and explained each dish with impeccable timing. Their service felt warm yet unobtrusive, creating genuine comfort. The semi-open kitchen design allowed glimpses of the cooking process, and the meticulous cleanliness standards were reassuring.

Reservations are essential. Private rooms fill quickly, especially weekend evenings and holiday periods—I recommend booking at least one week ahead by phone. If you plan to take advantage of the complimentary corkage, confirm the policy when reserving and prepare your preferred wine or spirits accordingly.

WOOHANA Yeouido excels across all three pillars: cuisine, atmosphere, and service. While the menu centers on Hanwoo, the robust seafood components prevent any monotony, and the all-private-room layout ensures comfort regardless of your occasion. The price point requires consideration, but the quality and experience fully justify the investment.

This is where you go for special occasions or when you want to share an exceptional meal with people who matter, in complete privacy and comfort. It's a standout among Yeouido Seoul restaurants. I'm already planning to return for their lunch course.

A. The restaurant offers 2 hours of complimentary parking, with the entrance directly left of the main entrance. Given typical course dining duration, two hours is generally sufficient, making parking stress-free.

Q. Are complimentary corkage policies common for Korean beef omakase in Seoul?
A. No, most fine dining establishments charge corkage fees. WOOHANA Yeouido's complimentary policy is exceptional at this level, allowing guests to bring special wines or champagne without additional expense—a significant advantage.
