On a weekday evening, I was craving a proper Korean beef course and discovered a gem near City Hall, Seoul. DAEBOJUNG City Hall isn't just about grilling meat—it's a complete culinary journey that begins with sashimi and seafood, then progresses to premium Korean beef (Hanwoo). If you're searching for an exceptional restaurant in City Hall Seoul for a special occasion, this is a must-visit destination that deserves your attention.

While Hanwoo omakase restaurants have become increasingly popular, DAEBOJUNG City Hall offers something truly distinctive. The most compelling feature is that every single seat is in a private room, allowing you to dine without any concern for neighboring tables. Even better, they offer unlimited complimentary wine corkage with no bottle limit! Add to that free parking for two hours on weekdays and three hours on weekends, and you have a restaurant that excels in both accessibility and convenience.

This is the perfect venue for important occasions—whether it's a date night, family meeting, engagement dinner, or business dinner where ambiance matters. With 21 private rooms that can accommodate up to 40 guests, the space works equally well for intimate gatherings and larger company dinners or family celebrations.

DAEBOJUNG City Hall is located on the B1 floor of Pacific Tower, just a five-minute walk from City Hall subway station. The proximity to both Gwanghwamun and Seoul Station makes it an ideal choice for weekday evening appointments and business meetings.

Parking is available in the Pacific Tower underground garage, with complimentary parking for two hours on weekdays and three hours on weekends. Whether you're arriving by public transportation or driving, the location offers exceptional convenience—truly a premier restaurant in the City Hall Seoul area.

Upon entering the restaurant, staff escort you directly to your individual private room. Since every table is in a separate room, there's absolutely no concern about other diners. The room interior was elegant and refined, with impeccable table settings.

The environment is particularly conducive to quiet conversation, making it suitable for business dinners or important meals. This is genuinely a restaurant I'd recommend for family meetings or engagement dinners in Seoul. The side dishes are all made in-house, and you can taste the care in every bite—additional servings are available upon request.

I ordered the weekday dinner Bo Set for two (149,000 won per person). From welcome drink to dessert, the course included over ten meticulously prepared dishes, each presented in sequence.

Welcome Drink and Perilla Samgyetang Porridge
The course opened with a glass of sparkling wine to gently awaken the palate (juice is also available if you prefer). The first dish was warm perilla samgyetang porridge, topped with dried jujube in the center and finished with water dropwort oil. The nutty, fragrant flavor was exquisite and prepared the stomach perfectly for the courses ahead.

Five-Variety Seasonal Sashimi and Bite-Size Courses
Next came seasonal sashimi featuring five varieties: tuna, sea bream, salmon, red snapper, and sweet shrimp. The chef recommended starting with lighter white fish and progressing to richer flavors. The exceptional freshness allowed the true character of each fish to shine through.

This was followed by abalone, squid, lobster tempura, and a palate cleanser. The tender steamed abalone was wrapped in seaweed and zucchini, served with abalone liver sauce underneath—the combination of chewy texture and savory richness was harmonious. The lobster tempura came with squid ink sauce and chives, offering a crispy exterior with deep umami flavor. The palate cleansers made with omija berry and apple mint refreshed the mouth between courses, building anticipation for what came next.

Korean Beef Tartare and Tteokgalbi Burger
Now the Hanwoo began to take center stage. The water dropwort beef tartare was a work of art from its plating alone. It arrived with pear carved into flower shapes—wrapping the tartare and pear in crispy kim bugak created a magical combination of crunch, tenderness, and crispness in a single bite.

The mini Hanwoo tteokgalbi burger appeared next, infused with truffle sauce that burst forth with aroma at first bite. While a burger in the middle of an omakase course was unexpected, the bite-sized portion was manageable and the tteokgalbi itself was superb—a delightful surprise.

Buckwheat Noodles and Charcoal-Grilled Hanwoo
The buckwheat noodles featured mustard sauce, whole sesame seeds, and finely minced perilla leaves, creating a sharp, refreshing flavor. Mixing everything into the broth provided another palate-cleansing moment.

Then came the main event—the premium Korean beef! Three cuts appeared: chuck flap tail, ribeye, and tenderloin. The staff grilled each piece over charcoal tableside, allowing us to relax and enjoy. The grilled meat rested on a tabletop brazier, keeping every last bite warm.

Abalone and scallops accompanied the beef, allowing simultaneous enjoyment of seafood and Korean beef. The visual presentation alone, with juices glistening, was stunning.

Closing Meal and Dessert
For the final course, you choose between Hanwoo seaweed soup or cold noodles. The Hanwoo seaweed soup arrived with rice made from Icheon grains—the broth was rich and savory, perfect for mixing with rice. Finishing a tasting menu with a warm bowl of rice felt wonderfully satisfying.

The cold noodles had a simple appearance but surprised me with unexpectedly rich broth. Truly delicious. Dessert consisted of pear sorbet and sujeonggwa (cinnamon punch)—the cool, sweet pear sorbet paired with the gentle cinnamon notes of sujeonggwa provided a clean, refreshing finish.

DAEBOJUNG City Hall accepts reservations by phone, Catch Table, and Naver. Reservations are essential, especially for weekends and dinner service. The corkage policy is particularly attractive: unlimited free wine corkage (one bottle limit for à la carte orders), while whiskey or spirits are 30,000 won per bottle.

Operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, with break time from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. Last order is at 9 PM, and the restaurant is closed Sundays. High chairs are available for families with young children.

Service was attentive throughout. Staff provided thoughtful explanations as each dish arrived and grilled the meat with perfect timing. The overall dining experience was comfortable and pleasant from start to finish.

Daebojung City Hall showcases Hanwoo omakase at its finest. The course construction—beginning with sashimi and seafood, then progressing to premium Korean beef—was solid throughout, with care and refinement evident in every dish. The greatest advantage was undoubtedly the all-private-room configuration, which allowed completely relaxed dining.

Value for money was high, and when you factor in complimentary corkage and parking services, it feels quite reasonable. If you're searching for a special-occasion korean restaurant City Hall Seoul or near Seoul Station for Hanwoo omakase, I strongly recommend DAEBOJUNG City Hall.
