While searching for a special dining venue with a friend recently, I discovered a newly opened Hanwoo omakase restaurant in Yeouido. DAEBOJUNG Yeouido stands out as the best Korean restaurant Seoul has to offer for intimate occasions, featuring Korean fine dining concepts with every single seat arranged in completely private rooms. It's the perfect fit for anyone seeking a private room experience in Yeouido, ideal for engagement dinners, anniversaries, or any occasion requiring a discreet atmosphere.

As someone who loves Korean beef, the omakase-style presentation allowing me to sample various cuts was incredibly appealing. The fact that every table is separated into individual private rooms was a major advantage, letting us converse freely without worrying about nearby diners. When I learned they offer anniversary events including welcome drinks, message lettering services, and Polaroid photos, I knew this was the perfect venue for a special celebration and made my reservation immediately.

DAEBOJUNG Yeouido is located just a 4-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 4. Accessible via both subway lines 5 and 9, public transportation access is excellent. I took the subway and found it easily by walking straight from the exit. For those driving, the building has its own parking facility, making it one of the most convenient restaurants near IFC Mall with no parking concerns.

Operating hours are 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on weekdays, and 11:30 AM opening on weekends. There's a break time from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, so checking the timing before your visit is essential. Last order is at 9:00 PM.

The traditional Korean hanok-inspired interior made an immediate impression upon entering. Once guided to our private room, I noticed the meticulously arranged side dishes presented in traditional brass bowls on the table. These brass bowl settings are rarely seen nowadays, and this attention to detail elevated the authenticity of Korean dining. Even the menu design echoed hanok architectural patterns, maintaining a cohesive aesthetic throughout.

Each room is completely isolated, so we couldn't hear any sounds from neighboring tables. Privacy and comfortable conversation are precisely why people seek private room dining in Yeouido, and this venue perfectly fulfills those requirements. The subdued lighting also created an excellent ambiance for photography.

We ordered the Bo Set, priced at 149,000 won per person for two people. DAEBOJUNG offers three course options—Dae Set, Bo Set, and Jeong Set—plus à la carte items. As first-time visitors, we chose the mid-tier Bo Set.

Before the course began, a staff member presented a ceremonial box containing the ingredients to be used. Fresh materials including marbled Hanwoo beef, abalone, and lobster were displayed beautifully. This presentation immediately heightened our anticipation.

First Course: Perilla Seed Samgyetang Porridge and Sashimi

The starter course featured perilla seed chicken porridge and a sashimi platter to awaken the palate. The porridge had the distinctive nuttiness of perilla seeds with subtle herbal notes. The sashimi—sweet shrimp, tuna, and salmon—was exceptionally fresh. A light and gentle beginning.

Second Course: Three Amuse-Bouche

Three bite-sized appetizers arrived on a tray decorated with pine cones, moss, and stones. The first was baby zucchini stuffed with steamed abalone and topped with abalone liver cream sauce. Though just one bite, the intense umami of the abalone liver sauce was remarkable. The second was fried squid with lobster, where the crispy batter and seafood harmonized unexpectedly well. The third was an omija berry cleanser that refreshed the palate with tart sweetness.

Third Course: Hanwoo Yukhoe with Seaweed Crisps

Korean beef tartare appeared, garnished with pear carved into flower shapes. The plating alone showcased the delicacy of Korean cuisine. The yukhoe was tender with deep savory notes, and the contrast with crispy seaweed chips added textural interest.

Fourth Course: Hanwoo Patty Burger

This burger featured a black squid-ink bun filled with Hanwoo patty, vegetables, and truffle sauce. My dining companion raved about this dish—it tasted completely different from ordinary burgers, refined and luxurious. Not greasy at all, yet preserving the natural juiciness characteristic of Korean beef.

Fifth Course: Hanwoo Noodle Soup

A Hanwoo noodle soup arrived generously topped with garnishes. The broth was nutty and clean yet deeply flavored. The noodles had a pleasant chew, and picking out pieces of Hanwoo from the soup added enjoyment to each bite.

Main Course: Grilled Hanwoo (Chuck Flap, Ribeye, Tenderloin)

Finally, the main event: grilled Korean beef. With dramatic dry ice presentation, beautifully marbled Hanwoo was set on our table. DAEBOJUNG's greatest advantage is that staff members grill the meat for you. We could relax and converse without worrying about cooking doneness.

They also grilled abalone and scallops to accompany the beef, creating a fantastic combination. A resting rack was provided so the meat could rest briefly after grilling, retaining maximum juiciness before serving.

Finishing Dish: Spicy Bibim Naengmyeon

The Bo Set offers a choice among Pyongyang-style naengmyeon, spicy bibim naengmyeon, or Hanwoo seaweed soup. I selected bibim naengmyeon, which had stronger heat than expected. Recommended if you enjoy spicy food.

Dessert: Sujeonggwa Sorbet

The finale was sorbet over a base of sujeonggwa, traditional cinnamon-ginger punch. The sweet, subtle fragrance of sujeonggwa paired with refreshing sorbet cleanly concluded the course experience.

Staff service was extremely attentive. Each dish came with explanations of ingredients and preparation methods, and while grilling our meat, they maintained an appropriate distance that never felt intrusive. The restaurant is corkage-free, so you can bring your own wine. For anniversary visits, notify them in advance to receive welcome drinks, message lettering service, and Polaroid photo events.

Reservations are mandatory. I strongly recommend booking ahead by phone (0507-1346-9554) or through Naver reservations. Weekend and evening slots fill up quickly, so book with plenty of advance notice.

DAEBOJUNG Yeouido demonstrates the pinnacle of Korean fine dining Seoul has to offer, centered around premium Korean beef. Among Korean restaurants in Yeouido, its greatest strength is simultaneously delivering private atmosphere and exceptional cuisine. The price point around 150,000 won per person may seem steep, but considering the course composition and service quality, it felt reasonable.

The tableside grilling service especially allowed us to focus on conversation comfortably, and both plating and flavors of each dish were satisfying. I highly recommend this Yeouido Korean food destination for important occasions like family gatherings, anniversaries, or whenever you want a quiet meal with meaningful conversation.
