Korean Food Yeouido: DAEBOJUNG Private Dining & Hanwoo Omakase Review

Last week my husband and I visited DAEBOJUNG Yeouido for a special dinner. With our baby due soon, I wanted one last memorable date night before everything changes, and I'd heard this spot was known for its Hanwoo omakase course menu. What really sold me was that every single table has its own private room—perfect for an intimate, uninterrupted conversation over dinner.

Why We Chose This Korean Restaurant Near IFC Mall

Honestly, with a baby on the way, it would've been easier to just grab something casual nearby. But once the little one arrives, multi-course Korean fine dining won't be on the agenda for a while. I wanted to celebrate this milestone with something truly special. As I searched for Korean BBQ Seoul options in Yeouido, DAEBOJUNG kept coming up—especially for its Hanwoo omakase. The fact that it's entirely private rooms was a huge draw, and the reviews all raved about the quality of the Korean beef. My expectations were high.

Location, Parking & Hours

DAEBOJUNG Yeouido is located at B1, 36 Gukjegeumnyung-ro 2-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's a short walk from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station, so it's very accessible by subway. We drove and used the building's underground parking garage, which offers two hours of complimentary parking. Just note that the entrance is a bit narrow—larger vehicles might find it tight. The restaurant is open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with a break from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Last order is at 9:00 PM.

Private Room Atmosphere: Quiet and Comfortable

The standout feature of DAEBOJUNG is that every seat is in a private room. There are 19 rooms total, ranging in size from intimate two-person spaces to large banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 40 guests. We reserved a room for two, and once the door closed, it felt like our own little world—no worrying about neighboring tables or noise. Among Korean restaurants in Seoul, it's rare to find a place where every table is truly private. This makes it ideal for all kinds of occasions: family meetings, engagement dinners, corporate dinners, business lunches, anniversaries, or romantic date nights. The ambiance was perfect for our celebration.

Another nice touch: the restaurant is corkage-free, so you can bring your own wine or whisky to pair with your meal. I couldn't take advantage since I'm pregnant, but I'm already planning to bring a good bottle of wine next time we visit.

The "Bo Set" Course: What We Ordered

We ordered the "Bo Set" at 149,000 KRW. It's an 11-course menu featuring premium two-plus-plus grade Hanwoo charcoal grill as the centerpiece. The restaurant offers three main omakase tiers: Jeong Set (109,000 KRW), Bo Set (149,000 KRW), and Dae Set (199,000 KRW). On weekdays, there are also lighter options like the Hanwoo bulgogi set or sea bream rice pot set, and on weekends they offer special menus like Hanwoo shabu-shabu or seafood platter sets.

Before the courses began, the staff presented the ingredients they'd be using—the freshness was immediately visible. The banchan (side dishes) were beautifully arranged: salad, kimchi, quail eggs, wild garlic greens, pickled chili peppers, cucumber stuffed with doenjang, and more. Everything felt intentional and well-curated.

First Course: Perilla Seed Samgyetang Porridge
This starter was silky, nutty, and comforting. It gently opened our appetites and settled our stomachs. The consistency was just right—smooth without being heavy.

Second Course: Five Seasonal Sashimi
We were served tuna, red seabream, salmon, sea bass, and raw shrimp—all impeccably fresh. The seabream, salmon, and shrimp had exceptional texture. I hadn't expected sashimi in a Hanwoo omakase, but it added a wonderful variety to the progression of flavors.

Third Course: Three Bite-Sized Creations
This trio included abalone wrap, fried lobster, and an omija tea cleanser. The abalone wrap featured steamed abalone nestled in grilled zucchini, wrapped in seaweed, and finished with abalone liver sauce—the zucchini and abalone pairing was surprisingly harmonious. The lobster tempura was crispy outside, tender inside, and absolutely delicious. The omija tea refreshed our palates beautifully. The plating alone was a feast for the eyes.

Fourth Course: Yukhoe and Crispy Seaweed Cracker
The yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) was incredibly fresh, with a rich beefy aroma. Eating it atop the crispy seaweed cracker created a delightful contrast between crunchy and tender.

Fifth Course: Hanwoo Tteokgalbi Burger
This mini burger featured a Hanwoo patty bursting with juice. Lettuce and tomato added freshness and balance. It was a clever way to keep the meal from feeling monotonous—switching up the presentation kept things exciting.

Sixth Course: Hanwoo Buckwheat Noodles
Served just before the main grilled beef, this cold buckwheat noodle dish cleansed our palates with its refreshing, light flavor. It was the perfect reset before the main event.

Main Event: Premium Two-Plus-Plus Hanwoo Charcoal Grill

Finally, the star of the show arrived: premium two-plus-plus grade Hanwoo grilled over charcoal. We were served three cuts—salchisal (rib finger meat), sirloin, and tenderloin—along with abalone and scallop. The marbling on the Hanwoo was absolutely stunning.

The staff grilled everything tableside, carefully tending each piece over charcoal. First came the salchisal and sirloin. The salchisal literally melted in my mouth—the fat distribution was perfect, and every chew released more savory, buttery flavor. The sirloin had a bit more chew but was still tender and juicy. The scallop, grilled alongside the beef, had a wonderfully springy texture.

Last were the tenderloin and abalone. The tenderloin was transcendent—it dissolved on my tongue. I've always preferred tender cuts, but this was among the best Hanwoo I've ever had. The abalone, grilled with butter, became even richer and more aromatic. This was Hanwoo omakase at its finest, fully living up to the name.

Anniversary Perks & Reservation Tips

DAEBOJUNG Yeouido offers special services for anniversaries and celebrations. They provide a complimentary glass of champagne or grape juice per person—we opted for grape juice since neither of us could drink. They also offered dessert lettering service and took Polaroid photos for us, which made for lovely keepsakes.

Reservations are essential. Because every table is a private room, space is limited, and weekend evenings book up quickly. I highly recommend calling ahead or using Naver reservations to secure your spot.

Who Should Visit DAEBOJUNG Yeouido

Final Thoughts: A Standout Korean Fine Dining Seoul Experience

DAEBOJUNG Yeouido exceeded our expectations in every way—the quality of the Hanwoo, the variety and execution of the 11-course menu, and the privacy and comfort of the dining room. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but given the top-tier two-plus-plus Hanwoo and the sophistication of each course, it's absolutely worth it. If you're looking for Korean food Yeouido options that offer both excellence and intimacy, this is a top choice. My husband and I have already promised each other we'll return next year. For anyone seeking an unforgettable Hanwoo omakase in Seoul, DAEBOJUNG is an excellent pick.
