I recently visited WOOARA Yeouido, a new Hanwoo omakase restaurant that opened near IFC Mall in August. While searching for Yeouido Korean food options with private dining rooms, I discovered this gem that specializes in premium Korean beef coursework served in fully private rooms. The combination of intimate space and high-quality Hanwoo courses caught my attention, so I made a reservation to check it out. If you're looking for an upscale venue for family meetings, business dinners, anniversary celebrations, or engagement dinners, this place is worth considering.

As someone who regularly explores restaurants near IFC Mall and throughout the Yeouido area, I was specifically looking for a private space where we could enjoy a quiet meal without distractions. WOOARA Yeouido stood out because of its fresh opening status, spotless facilities, and the unique concept of Hanwoo omakase dining. The all-private-room layout immediately appealed to me for occasions that require privacy and focus. Another attractive feature: they offer free corkage, so you can bring your own wine without additional charges.

WOOARA Yeouido is located at B1 Floor, 36 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It's about a 5-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 3, making it very accessible by subway. The restaurant is also close to The Hyundai Seoul and IFC Mall, so you can easily combine your meal with shopping or a riverside stroll along the Han River.

The entrance is located on the basement level of the building and is easy to find even for first-time visitors. The complimentary 2-hour parking validation is a nice bonus if you're driving, though the subway access makes public transportation just as convenient.

The restaurant features an open kitchen layout with individual private rooms arranged along a corridor. I was escorted to Room 18, and I immediately noticed that each room has its own independent air conditioning system, allowing you to control the temperature to your preference. The complete privacy made conversation comfortable and relaxed—a rarity even among Yeouido's upscale dining options. This setup makes WOOARA ideal not just for romantic dinners, but also for family gatherings, engagement dinners, and company meetings where discretion matters.

The interior design uses white, ivory, and deep wood tones to create a modern yet warm atmosphere. Being newly opened, everything felt immaculate and contemporary. The rooms are spacious enough to accommodate up to 20 guests, making them suitable for larger family gatherings or corporate events as well.

I selected the Dinner B Course (129,000 KRW per person). Before the meal began, the chef presented all the ingredients that would be used throughout the course—a theatrical touch that built anticipation nicely. The course consisted of 10 meticulously prepared dishes, each showcasing attention to detail and quality ingredients.

Chawanmushi was a Japanese-style savory egg custard made with pu-erh tea broth, featuring sweet shrimp, ginkgo nuts, and okra. The broth was perfectly seasoned, and the custard had a silky, delicate texture that melted on the tongue.

Woora-han ("Elegant" in Korean) presented four bite-sized appetizers: scallop, Hanwoo beef tartare, Hanwoo tenderloin, and lobster. Each piece offered distinct flavors, but the standout was the fried Hanwoo tenderloin with truffle sauce—rich, indulgent, and perfectly portioned for a single bite.

Tuna was served with pickled baby cabbage and yuzu, accompanied by a soy-based dipping sauce. The combination of chilled tuna, the brightness of kiwi, and the tangy pickles created a beautifully balanced bite. Even the serving plate was chilled to preserve the tuna's texture and freshness.

Sweet Corn Soup featured Chodang corn (a premium Korean variety known for its sweetness) blended into a velvety cream soup, finished with truffle oil, caviar, spinach, and mushrooms. The natural sweetness of the corn shone through, while the vegetables at the bottom added earthy depth.

Abalone was cooked so tender you could cut it with your tongue, served with a special soy-based sauce and thread kelp. When combined with the accompanying braised radish, razor clams, and scallions, the umami flavors came alive in a single, harmonious bite.

Tilefish arrived smoked and dramatically presented. The server poured tilefish bone broth over seasoned wild chive rice, releasing aromatic smoke. The fish was incredibly tender, and the smoky fragrance paired beautifully with the nutty, herb-scented rice.

Perilla Oil Stone Octopus Hanwoo Noodles was my personal favorite. Capellini pasta was topped with stone octopus, sea urchin, Hanwoo beef, and wild chamnamul (Korean wild greens), all tossed in aromatic perilla oil. The perilla oil delivered an intense, nutty fragrance that's quintessentially Korean. The combination of octopus and uni was unexpected but delicious, and the pasta held the sauce and ingredients perfectly without being overly soft.

Personal Grill Hanwoo featured Hanwoo striploin cooked tableside on an individual charcoal grill. The marbling was exceptional, and the grill's heat retention ensured even cooking. Served simply with wasabi and salt, the beef's natural juiciness and tenderness spoke to its premium quality. The side of parsnip purée and crispy potato fries added an elegant touch.

Bansang (traditional Korean rice course) included Hanwoo seaweed soup, premium Icheon rice, and three banchan (side dishes): seasoned fernbrake, salted seafood, and leaf mustard kimchi. The soup was perfectly seasoned, and the fernbrake was particularly flavorful. The server mentioned that banchan refills are available upon request.

Dessert was a refreshing sorbet topped with crispy meringue cookies—light, sweet, and the perfect palate cleanser after such a rich meal. For special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays, the restaurant offers special dessert plating, a complimentary Polaroid photo, and champagne upon request—making it an excellent choice for celebratory date nights.

The staff was exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable. With each course, they provided detailed explanations of the ingredients, preparation methods, and recommended ways to enjoy the dish, which enhanced the entire dining experience. The free corkage policy is a significant perk—if you're a wine enthusiast, bringing your own bottle can add a personal touch to your meal without extra cost.

I highly recommend making reservations by phone in advance. As a newly opened restaurant, WOOARA has quickly gained popularity, and weekend evenings book up fast. When you reserve your table online or by phone, you can also request specific room assignments based on your party size.

WOOARA Yeouido successfully combines the privacy of individual dining rooms with the culinary excellence of Hanwoo-focused omakase. As a newly opened venue, the facilities are spotless and modern, and the quality of each dish was impressive. The all-private-room structure makes it easy to recommend for important occasions like family gatherings, engagement dinners, or sensitive business meetings where you need both great food and confidential space.

While the Dinner B Course is priced in the upper range, the ingredient quality, course composition, and service level justify the cost. The location near Yeouido Station with complimentary parking makes access convenient whether you're driving or taking public transit. After your meal, you can easily walk to Han River Park or The Hyundai Seoul, making it simple to plan a full evening out.
