Recently, I visited a family dinner Korean restaurant in Yeouido for a special lunch with a friend. I'd been wanting to try Korean fine dining for a while, and when I heard about WOOARA Yeouido's new opening, I made a reservation right away. What drew me in was the all-private-room setup and the course menu featuring both premium Korean beef and seafood. Bottom line: this is a place I'd strongly recommend for anniversaries, family gatherings, engagement dinners, or any important occasion.

When searching for Hanwoo omakase restaurants around Yeouido, many options felt pricey. WOOARA stood out for its reasonably priced lunch courses and, more importantly, its completely private dining rooms. I prefer intimate settings over open omakase counters, so the reviews mentioning quiet, secluded spaces convinced me to book. It seemed perfect for a relaxed conversation over a great meal.

WOOARA Yeouido is just a 3-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 3. You can't miss the large "WOOARA" sign right at the building entrance. Head down to the basement level and you'll find the elegant, understated entrance.

The location is convenient if you're shopping at IFC Mall or The Hyundai Seoul—easy to combine a meal here with your itinerary.

Upon entering, staff escorted us to our reserved Room 7. Inside, the table was neatly set for our party size, complete with a call button. Each private room has a coat rack (great for winter) and power outlets for charging phones during the meal.

One of the main reasons to seek out a group dinner private room in Yeouido is exactly this kind of independent space. At WOOARA, every room is fully enclosed, so you can talk freely without worrying about neighboring tables. The ambiance works equally well for date nights, family meetings, or business dinners.

WOOARA Yeouido offers three lunch courses: A (sea bass stone pot rice–focused), B (Hanwoo beef–focused), and C (both Hanwoo and sea bass). We chose Course C with 80g of beef (₩79,000) because we wanted to try everything. Considering the omakase-level service and variety, the value felt solid.

Before the meal, we could choose between sparkling wine or grape juice—a thoughtful touch for non-drinkers.

1. Chawanmushi
The first course was a silky steamed egg custard with sweet shrimp, herring roe, and okra. One spoonful released layers of umami that immediately whetted my appetite. I scraped the bowl clean—it's the perfect way to start.

2. WOOARA Signature (4-Piece Amuse-Bouche)
Before the main courses began, the chef presented the raw ingredients for the day—fresh Hanwoo and sea bass—right at our table. I'd never experienced this kind of presentation before, and it heightened our anticipation.

Then came the "WOOARA" platter, an absolute showstopper. Scallop, Hanwoo tartare, fried beef tenderloin, and lobster were artfully arranged on one plate. We were instructed to start with the tartare and work clockwise. Each component had a distinct flavor and texture:

This was the most memorable dish of the entire meal.

3. Tuna Dish
A refreshing tuna course topped with kiwi and yuzu sauce, accompanied by pickled cabbage. It acted as a palate cleanser, the tender tuna contrasting nicely with the crunchy vegetables.

4. Perilla Oil Octopus & Hanwoo Noodles
Pasta noodles topped with octopus, Hanwoo, wild herbs, and aged kimchi, all drizzled with fragrant perilla oil and a yuzu soy base. The perilla aroma tied beautifully to the previous course's citrus notes, making the progression feel seamless.

5. Grilled Hanwoo & Sea Bass Stone Pot Rice
The main event: Hanwoo beef grilled tableside on a personal brazier. The charcoal stayed hot throughout, so we could cook the beef to our preferred doneness and keep it warm. The beef was so tender it practically melted on the tongue.

The sea bass stone pot rice came with Hanwoo seaweed soup and three side dishes (bracken, salted seeds, and mustard kimchi). The soup was deep and rich, and every side dish was dangerously good with rice. Placing the grilled beef on top of the rice made for a supremely satisfying bite.

That said, the portions are generous. We could only finish about half the rice course. I felt a bit guilty leaving food, but the staff kindly anticipated this, asking, "Is it too much?" Their attentiveness was genuinely touching.

6. Dessert
We finished with Korean melon (chamoe) sorbet—my first time trying this flavor. The subtle sweetness and coolness were the perfect ending, topped with crunchy meringue and pistachios for added texture.

Service at WOOARA Yeouido was exceptionally attentive. Each course came with a detailed explanation, and before dessert, staff even took a Polaroid photo of us—a lovely keepsake. It's these little gestures that make the experience memorable.

I highly recommend reserving through Catch Table in advance. The number of private rooms is limited, so walk-ins are risky. For weekend dinners or special occasions like anniversaries, book early.

WOOARA Yeouido delivered on every front: food quality, atmosphere, and service. The all-private-room layout was the highlight, allowing us to relax and talk without distractions. The course progression was varied and never dull, and the Hanwoo quality and preparation were excellent.

Considering the price-to-quality ratio, this is one of the best Hanwoo restaurants in Yeouido. I'd gladly return for future special occasions. It's also a great option after shopping at IFC Mall or The Hyundai Seoul, and if you're near Saetgang Station or 63 Building looking for Korean fine dining with a private room in Seoul, WOOARA is absolutely worth a visit.
